MICHELE MONTRONE, Ph.D

Michele is a QC Analyst Specialist and Molecular IVD Product Developer with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology. He was a PhD Fellow at SISSA, where he worked within the Molecular Neuro-oncology Programme, focusing on advanced research in neuroscience and disease mechanisms.

Prior to his PhD, Michele worked as a Technical Specialist in Quality Control at Eurofins Tecna and as a Junior Research Scientist at Ulisse BioMed, where he contributed to the development of molecular diagnostics and biotechnological solutions. He has experience across both research and applied industrial settings, particularly in the development of in vitro diagnostic (IVD) devices and molecular testing systems.

Michele has led and contributed to projects spanning molecular diagnostics, neurobiology, and biotechnology innovation, with a focus on translating complex biological processes into practical, scalable applications. He is also co-inventor of a patent related to neurological disease treatment and has published research on neurotoxicity and brain damage mechanisms.

He holds an International Master’s Degree in Neuroscience from the University of Trieste and a Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology. His research interests include molecular diagnostics, neuroscience, neuro-oncology, and the development of innovative biotechnological solutions bridging research and industry.
